Obituary

Agatha A. Smith, 85 of Whitesboro, NY, died May 19, 2026 at Wynn Hospital, Utica.

Agatha was born July 4, 1940, in New Britain, CT, a daughter of Tony and Agnes Kvedas. She was educated in New Britain, CT, and Middlesex, CT Hospital. She married Francis Smith in 1962 in New Britain.

Agatha was a registered nurse at Eastern Star Nursing Home for 24 years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church.

She is survived by her husband, Francis; daughter, Lisa and Ken White of Deerfield Beach, FL, sons, Glenn and Pamela Smith of Rome and Chris Smith of Whitesboro; four grandchildren, Mariah Smith, Santana Block, Evan White and Ryan White; and four great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her siblings Rev. Leonard Kvedas of New Britain, CT, Marcella and Curt Schubert of Wayland, MA, Carol Beers of Midwest City, OK and Anthony Kvedas, Jr. of New Britain, CT. She was predeceased by her parents; and a sister, Matilda Kevedas of Higganum, CT.

The family would like to thank the nurses of the Wynn Hospital CCU for their care during her stay.

There are no calling hours. Her funeral service will be on Thursday, May 28 at 12:00 pm at the Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Road, New Hartford. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro.
