Mary, Sorry to hear of Walter's passing. I am sure it was a very hard time for you. It sounds like your family was great support for you, which is so nice. Another friend of mine recently lost her husband and she said to me, " well, we are in that age group now", and sad to say, she is absolutely correct!! Take care of yourself.
Our thoughts are with you.

Dear Mary and Family:
Sorry to read of Walter's passing and hope the void in your life will quickly fill with fond memories of his life with you all.
We didn't know him well, but remember his ready smile and, as was noted in his obit, his quick wit.
Please accept our condolences, which come with the hope that the pain of his passing soon subsides.

The Utica area in its golden years produced quite a few unique individuals of outstanding characteristics. Walt was one as were several other Pratts. The expression, "they don't make 'em like that anymore applies. God bless his family and his new adventure.

Walt was not just a fellow attorney, but a dear friend and confidant for over fifty years.
His father, Roger, in earlier years, was the attorney for Ludlow's Sand & Gravel, Inc., and also legal counsel to my late father, James S. Ludlow, Sr.
Following Roger's death, Walt assumed both roles.
Walt guided us through nine most difficult years of Ludlow landfill litigation. He lived that crisis with us, week to week, year to year.
He facilitated a successful end to
that highly publicized nightmare.
I remain forever grateful for his legal expertise and compassion throughout that matter.
When I commenced the practice of law in 1984, Walt invited me to share office space with him, Roc Mascaro, John Tierney, and stenographic reporter Marty Murphy at 10 Hopper Street, downtown Utica. It was a lively and memorable office back then.
Many years have passed, but my gratitude and admiration remain vivid.
May Walt rest in eternal peace with the knowledge that the job was well done by this loyal and faithful servant.
My love and admiration for Walt's memory, and deep condolences to Mary and all family members.

- G. Kevin Ludlow, Esq.
