Victor Frank Commons of Remsen, NY passed away at the age of 61 on October 1, 2021 due to complications from a heart attack. Although a failing heart took him away from this world, his loving heart will be remembered reverently in the community.

Vic put his heart into everything and always lived first with love. His love shone through in his craftsmanship, cooking, winemaking, and garden, shining most brightly in his family. Friends could always count on Victor for his quiet patience, kindness, and strength.

Victor never backed down from a fight; fighting until the very end. He didn’t see love as a weakness, but rather an asset to his strength. His love for life, family and fellowship kept with him during his battle with muscle recovery and medical complications over the past few years.

Victor is survived by his beloved wife Jody and daughter Ruby. He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Georgia (Charles) Robertson, Rhonda (Mike) Matlack, Martha (Paul Lee) Theis, his brother Raymond (Catherine) Commons and several cherished nieces and nephews. Vic was preceded in death by his parents Ronald and Edda Commons and his sister Patrizia, survived by her husband Bernie Levine.

Vic was well-regarded for his involvement in the community, serving in the Holland Patent Lions Club Chapter since 2004 and as President since 2019. His memory will live on in homes he helped restore in the area. Parts of him will survive with thanks to Donate Life America, where he’ll continually help others in need.

Victor will be honored in a celebration of life on November 5, 2021 at the Holland Patent American Legion. Visiting hours are from 4 – 8pm. The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Holland Patent Lions Club via Paula Flisnik.
