Utica - Thomas M. Bell, 33, of Utica, NY, and formerly of Augusta, GA, died on July 19, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Thomas was born on August 12, 1985 in Augusta, GA.  He was the first born son of Thomas Bell, Jr. and Pamela Brown.  He was educated in Augusta until his high school years, when he moved to Rome, NY and finished his education.

Thomas was a counselor at Taberg Detention Center in Taberg, NY.  He was previously employed at Central New York Psychiatric Center in Marcy, NY as well as Upstate Cerebral Palsy of Utica, NY.

Thomas was an avid lover of boxing, Lebron James, and the Atlanta Falcons.  He enjoyed making others laugh and spending time with his friends and family, especially his three beautiful daughters.

Thomas is survived by his soulmate, Destiny Davis, their daughters Ta’jae and T’Asia Bell, as well as a stepson Rahmir Patterson, all of Utica.  Thomas is also survived by Danielle Allen and their daughter, Kimbrielle Bell of Utica.  In addition, Thomas is survived by his mother, Pamela Brown (Augusta); two sisters, Kimberly (Augusta) and Tomesha (Utica); five brothers, Ferris (Utica), Acie (Augusta), DeTron (Utica), Marcell (Utica), and Jahmel (Syracuse).  Along with his siblings, he leaves his maternal grandmother, Ernestine Brown (Augusta); a special aunt, Denise Merriweather (Augusta); and special cousin, Orlando “PeeWee” Henderson (Utica).  Thomas will be remembered by a host of close friends including Brandon Dobbs (Utica), whom Thomas considered a brother, Terrence Johnson (Utica), Duchane Boyd (Utica), Shawntelle Spratt (Utica), India Brown (Utica), and Ashley Lewis (Rome). Thomas was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Fannie Mae Bell, and his father, Thomas Bell, Jr.

The family would like to thank Friedel, Williams, & Edmunds Funeral Home, Eannace Funeral Home, and the staff at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

The funeral will be Friday, July 26, at 2:00 p.m. at Friedel, Williams &Edmunds Funeral Home, 1123 Court Street, Utica, NY. Calling hours will precede the service, beginning at 12 p.m. Interment will be in Augusta, GA.
