Obituary

Theodore M. Morrison, 89, of New Hartford, died July 3, 2018 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare ICU.

He was born August 23, 1928 in Utica and attended local schools. He served in the US Army in Korea.

Theodore married Patricia Fitzsimmons in 1959 at St. Patrick’s Church Utica. She died February 10, 2006.

He was employed with General Electric for many years.

He was a member of Historic Old St. John’s Church, Utica, the Erie Canal Wood Carvers and the New Hartford American Legion Post # 1376. Ted was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Donna Morrison of Leander, TX; his grandchildren Tyler and Kayleigh; his sister Dorothy Nicotera of New Hartford; several nieces and nephews. He also leaves two special sisters-in-law Ella G. Quinn of Whitesboro and Geraldine Durante of Utica and his special cat Mizzer.

The family wishes to thank all of the staff at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare, especially Toni, everyone at Presbyterian Home Rehab and Adult Daycare and his home nurse Laura for all of their care for Ted.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at Historic Old St. John’s Church, Utica. The family will greet friends following the Mass. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Military Honors. There are no calling hours.
