My sincerest condolences to the Brotherton family. It's worth mentioning the importance of Mr. Brotherton's teaching and the positive influence he had on students at NYM: In metal shop we learned arc and gas welding, metal cutting and casting techniques, the use of metal lathes, metal brakes, and various power equipment. In wood shop we learned how to laminate wood, set up different saws, different blades for specific materials, use large power equipment such as planers, jointers, band saws, circular saws and wood lathes. In electronic shop we learned wiring, switch relays, built power supplies, and radios to mention only a few things. I've always appreciated Mr. Brotherton, and the skills I've learned that I use daily. Thank You Mr. Brotherton.

I’m sorry to hear of Bob’s passing.
I was a student of his at New York Mills in the 1960’s. Over the years I would run into him, especially in more recent years at antique car events.

My condolences to the Brotherton family. I have known Mr. Brotherton
since the late 60's when he was my teacher at New York Mills. He was a very
hands on individual and allowed me to really test the waters of mechanical
aptitude. When ever we got to see each other, cars were always the root of
conversation. I thank him for many of the things I do today. May he Rest
in Peace.
