Rita Marie Kanfoush

My heart is heavy upon hearing the news of Rita's passing despite selfishly knowing she is at peace. I can't help but share a heartfelt memory when my three children and I moved next door to Rita. She expressed enthusiasm for what many might feel would be an imposition. Three children under the age of six giggling, riding their bikes up and down the driveway and early evening bonfires. Rita would come out and greet my children with joy as much as they looked forward to seeing her. I distinctly remember talking about plants and upon hearing that, I put together a plant and reminded her that anything worth living is worth caring for. She smiled and knew the meaning of the sentiment. During the sorely short time of knowing Rita, she will be remembered as kind, compassionate and admirable with an infectious insistence of independence and strength. My condolences to her family and everyone fortunate enough in any capacity to have known her. In our case, it was a short time but within that time we felt blessed to have her as a neighbor. She and her family are lifted in prayer during this time.

Sincerely,
Grace, Isaiah, Autumn and Benny
