Richard F. Lewek, 81, of Clinton and formerly of Litchfield, died on Saturday, January 23, 2021, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

He was born on July 27, 1939, in Utica, a son of the late Stanley and Josephine Tomczyk Lewek. He graduated from Proctor High School and Utica College. Richard served in the United States Army from 1960-1962 and was discharged as a Sergeant. He worked for General Electric for 35 years as a financial analyst.

Richard was an avid reader and enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and rooting for the Syracuse University Athletics.

He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Lewek-LaPorte and her husband, Louie of Deerfield; special companion of 45 years, Lizabeth (Betsy) Walker of Clinton; sister-in-law, Kathleen Lewek of Deerfield, niece, Lori Sherwood and her husband, Chris of Verona; special great niece, Sophia Sherwood and great nephew Noah Sherwood. He was predeceased by his brother, Larry Lewek and nephew, Scott Lewek.

The family would offer a special thank you to Richard’s neighbor, Gary Plescia for all his help. True to Richards giving nature, he made a final donation to the Center for Donation Transplant.

Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family with Mike Dzuria officiating. Interment will be in the spring with Military Honors in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Whitesboro. Arrangements are with the Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
