Pauline Guzski passed from the Hospice Siegenthaler Center on December 10, 2020 into the open, waiting and loving arms of the Blessed Virgin Mary and her birth mother, Isabelle, who predeceased her when she was 14 years old. She was 83.

Pauline was the daughter of the late John and Isabelle Zdanowicz Stuczko and was educated in Utica schools, graduating from Utica Catholic Academy. Following her graduation she worked briefly at the Stanley Theater and Neisner’s Department Store, and then joined the NY Telephone Company as a long-distance assistance operator. She retired in 1996 and would fondly recall her co-workers at “the phone company” often reminiscing that “we had A LOT of fun”.

On November 14, 1959 Pauline married F. Paul Guzski, a devoted and loving union of 61 years.

Pauline is survived by her husband Paul and their three children: Steven and Beth Guzski of Whitesboro, NY, Carolyn Guzski of New York City, and Paul and Marie Guzski of Durham, NC; her grandsons and their wives: Steven and Nicole Guzski, and Bryan and Carissa Guzski, all of Rochester, NY, and her great-granddaughter Nadia Elizabeth Guzski. She also leaves two sisters and a brother- in-law: Beatrice Grygiel of Florida, and Virginia and Donald Olienechak of Ohio, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law Dr. Louis and Marianne Soltys, a brother - Rev. Richard Stuczko, and two special cousins: David Nastovich and Barbara Remmell.

The family extends a special debt of gratitude to Dr. Amy Gorczynski for her years of care, and the entire Hospice Siegenthaler Center staff for their wonderful and compassionate end of life care.

A private memorial service will be held for the family. Arrangements are with the Friedel, Williams and Edmunds funeral service in New Hartford.

To remember Pauline please consider the charity of your choice. She was particularly fond of and generous to charities focusing on underprivileged or sick children, and loved animals - especially cats - so also consider People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
