Obituary

Nancy L. Skinner, 76, of New Hartford, passed away November 21, 2018 at the Presbyterian Home with her family at her side and after receiving visits during the day from her close friends.

She was born February 20, 1942 in Utica, daughter of the late William and Florence Gifford Waterman.

Nancy operated a day care business out of her home for many years.

She was a member of the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Nancy enjoyed ceramics, gardening, loved to sew and was and excellent cook and baker.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Robin and Andrew Zinger of Liverpool; her beloved grandsons who were the light of her life, Daniel and Adam Zinger both of Boston, MA and Benjamin Zinger of Liverpool; one sister Donna Grygiel, of New Hartford and one brother Robert Waterman of Vernon Center, NY. She was pre-deceased by her son John Skinner on November 30, 2012.

The family wishes to especially acknowledge Nancy’s close friends Mary Ellen VanAllen, Connie Cushman, Pat Johnson, Lucille Costello and Sr. DePaul Juliano, OSF for their love and support of Nancy during her illness. They also wish to thank the staff of the Presbyterian Home for all of their care and to Fr. Phillip Hearn for his many visits to Nancy.

The funeral will be on Saturday at 2:00 PM, at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The family will greet friends following the Mass. Interment will be in Verona Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

In memory of Nancy, the family asks that you do a good deed for someone.
