Miles H. Colerick, age 84 passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.

He was born October 21, 1933 in Utica, New York to Ethel Tuckerman and Harry J. Colerick. Miles attended Utica Public Schools, Blair Academy, Blairstown, N.J. and Duke University, Durham, N.C. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 until 1962, part of that time with the 3rd Armored Cavalry in Germany, the New York National Guard and then the Ready Reserve, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1962. He then joined his father in the family business, Colerick Supply Company. He became President and Treasurer upon the retirement of his father. He finished his working career with D.B. Smith, now known as the Fountainhead Group, retiring in 1998. In 1962 he married Carol Ann Knapp on April 28th at First Presbyterian Church and celebrated their 56th anniversary. The Colericks spent many happy hours at Brantingham and Piseco Lakes in the Adirondacks where their families had summer retreats.

Miles is survived by his beloved wife Carol, three sons Steven and his wife Deborah, Charlotte, N.C, Kenneth and his wife Linda, New Hartford, N.Y. and Andrew of Brewerton, N.Y. He also leaves two grandchildren - Lauren (David) Starr and Grant H. Colerick and a great-granddaughter Ava Starr, a cousin Ardelle Tuckerman, along with a number of much loved cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Janice Colerick Rolling, brother-in-law Donald C. Rolling, a partner in Colerick Supply, and nephew Jeffrey A. Rolling.

Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery where a private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements will be made by Friedel, Williams and Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, New Hartford, NY.

The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for the care Mr. Colerick received. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Steven Swan Humane Society.
