Obituary

Mike Clarkin passed away suddenly due to cancer on Jan. 16, 2021

Mike was born on March 17, 1953 to Eugene Clarkin and Mona Illingworth Clarkin.

He grew up in Clark Mills, N.Y. and attended Westmoreland schools.

After high school, Mike served in the U.S. Marine Corps 1971-1980 as an aviation electronics technician.

After leaving the Corps, he worked as an energy consultant and indoor air quality expert.

From 1988 until his retirement in 2018, he was a partner in Camroden Associates, a building science consulting firm in Westmoreland, N.Y.

When not rummaging around in buildings, Mike enjoyed fishing, especially on the Salmon River and in the Thousand Islands.

He was a lover of cats and books and music as well as good food and good beer.

Mike is survived by his sister, Phyllis Stuhr of New Hartford, in addition to Blythe Tibbitts of Utica, Terry Brennan of Westmoreland, his friends at The Auburn in Utica, and his feline friends Dusty and Nova.
