I remember Mrs Ernest very clearly way back in the summer of 1964. She would pick me up at the corner of Albany and Jefferson Ave with her son, Nichola V. Ernest. We were headed to Hughes School for a summer school enrichment program. After the session ended, she would take me back to the same intersection. The family lived on Keene St way back then. Nicholas and I were in the same grade in school.
In tow was her daughter Elizabeth, circa one year old at that time. Now the latter is married with 3 sons!
Nicholas V. Ernest: if you see this sincere tribute to your late mother, please contact me at the Utica Public Library where I work part-time. I'd like to make your "reacquaintance" after the passage of 59 years!
The last time I saw you was in June , 1975, when I was a student employee at the Utica College Library. You were employed at the former General Electric company in Utica.
Most sincerely, Robert S. (Bob) Lalli
