Marion C. Amico, 91, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at the Presbyterian Home in New Hartford NY.

Marion was born on December 23, 1930, in Utica, the only daughter of the late George and Anna Fox Christie. She graduated from the Potsdam Crane School of Music and taught elementary education for the Whitesboro School District until she retired. After she retired from elementary education, she earned her Master’s Degree from Princeton University and began her second career as an organist at Colgate University until retirement.

Marion was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church in Clinton and was a past member of Tapestry, Utica Chorale, and Etude singing groups.

Marion was predeceased by her husband Joseph V. Amico. She is survived by her son, David Amico and his wife Patricia of Cazenovia, NY, her grandson who she deeply loved, Joseph Amico and his mother, Sandra of New Hartford, NY, several nieces and nephews, and was predeceased by a very special cousin who was like her sister Mary Louise Rositano.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff of Preswick Glen who always went above and beyond to help her while she lived there. The family would also like to thank the staff of the Presbyterian Home who took excellent care of her until her passing.

The funeral will be on Monday at 1:00 at the Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford. Internment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hour will be on Monday from 12:00 to 1:00 prior to the funeral.
