Marilyn J. Honeyford, age 95 of Norwich, N. Y. formerly of New Hartford, N. Y. and Orlando, Florida went home to be with the Lord with her daughter, Linda holding her hand on October 28, 2023 at UHS Senior Living at Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich, New York.
She was born April 2, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois a daughter of Wilbur and Lela Johnson. She was educated at UFA Academy and married Raymond R Honeyford on July 3 , 1948 in Utica, New York
After high school Marilyn worked as a secretary at businesses in Utica and Batavia. She was most happy working as a stay at home wife and mother.
Marilyn was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in New Hartford. She loved her family, was a wonderful mother and grandmother and loved reading the Bible & caring for her husband and her children. She also enjoyed genealogy and American history including Native American culture.
Marilyn is survived by her son Gary R (Valerie) Honeyford, of Lima, New York, daughter Linda Lou Spoor of Norwich, New York, grandsons Matthew R (Maribel) Honeyford of Pittsford, N.Y., James Spoor (Rosie) of Tennessee, granddaughters Andrea (Adam) Luke of Brighton N.Y. and Charity (Macie) of Dexter, N.Y., 6 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Marilyn was predeceased by her husband Raymond in 1990.
The family would like to thank Dr. James Simcoe, Sue Martin, the nurses and nurses aides for caring for mom for 13 years. Thank you to special friends Connie and John Selinsky,and the Reverend. Vin Upham. Our family is very thankful for all the kind thoughts and prayers extended to our family.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday November 8, 2023 at 1 PM at Immanuel Baptist Church 9501 Weston Rd. New Hartford, N.Y.AM with Rev. Vin Upham officiating. Interment for family only will be at Crown Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. There are no prior calling hours. Arrangements are with Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, New Hartford.
In lieu of flowers friends may consider a charitable donation to the Alzheimer's Association Central New York Chapter or Immanuel Baptist Church in New Hartford, N.Y.
