Lyle M. Robison, 79, of Utica, died on Friday, October 26, 2018, at the St. Luke’s Home.

He was born on October 13, 1939, in Adrian, MI, a son of the late Arthur and Lucille Downer Robison. He was educated in Michigan and attended Malone College. He later served in the US Air Force from 1963-1966, serving in France and Germany. Lyle married Bonnie Delgado on September 2, 1967. She passed away on May 31, 2014. Lyle worked as a mechanic for Navelli’s Cadillac for over 32 years and then retired from Orion Bus Industries. After retirement, he became a Minister and was the Pastor at East Schuyler Methodist Church.

Lyle was a member of Central United Methodist Church and was a 32 degree Mason. He was the Past President of the Valley Voices for Christ Choir. Lyle was an avid bowler and golfer.

Lyle was known for his hard work and dedication, but always had time for his family who he loved dearly. He was never too busy for his kids. He loved to coach his children in the sports which they participated. When he was not coaching, he was cheering them on. All of his kids’ friends were always welcome at the house and they referred to him as Dad.

He is survived by his children, Diana Thornton and husband, Kevin of Ashville, NC, Pamela Miller of FL Matthew Robison and Stephanie, of Duluth, GA, Shaun Robison and wife, Kimberlee of Yorkville, Heather Scienza of Yorkville, Robert Robison and wife, Melissa, of Utica, and Jason Robison and wife, Melissa, of Marcy; his grandchildren, Matthew and Sam Thornton, Dominic Miller, Chelsey Stoecker, Aaron and Ethan Robison, Zachary, Jordyn and Kayla Robison, Alaina and Alex St. John, David and Carson Scienza, Tyler Tripalone, Devon Robison, Dakota, Brittany and Connor Robison, and Cole, Parker and Skylar Robison; three great-grandchild, Cebastian John Stoecker, Lacie Miller and Nora Thornton; sisters, Shirley Firestone and Sharon Frye and a brother, Richard Robison; special companion, Carolyn Taverne; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother, Herbert Robison, brothers in law, Harold Firestone and Ronald Frye and sister in law, Barbara Robison.

The funeral will be on Tuesday at 10:00 at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 1123 Court at York Sts., Utica. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery with Military Honors. Calling hours will be on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 at the Funeral Home.
