Obituary

Louise H. Wurster, 100, died on January 31, 2021 at Lutheran Care in Clinton, NY.

She was born on January 2,1921 at home in Schuyler Lake, NY. She was one of seven children born of the late Fred and Louise (Held) Wurster. Following graduation from Schuyler Lake High School she attended cosmetology school in Schenectady, NY. Thereafter, Louise opened her own salon on Whitesboro Street in Utica, NY. Later, she moved to O’Brien Avenue in Utica and operated her salon, the Clinton Beauty Salon, from there until her retirement in 2008. She was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Utica.

She was predeceased by her elder sister, Margaret, who died at 11 months of spinal meningitis, younger sister Elizabeth Wharton, and her brother Fred Wurster. She is survived by two sisters, Marie Connor and Barbara Coleman, and her brother John Wurster. In addition, she is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, great-grand nieces, great-grand nephews, and great-great-grand nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be on Monday at 12:30 pm at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
