Linda M. Cavalier, age 80, of Utica, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 13, 2021, at Sitrin Health Care Center with her son and daughter at her side.

She was born in Utica on June 21, 1941, the daughter of the late Stanley and Julia Koziol Sokolowski. She was educated locally and furthered her education at MVCC in her later years. On August 7, 1965, Linda was united in marriage to Anthony (Tony) Cavalier, a union that lasted 42 years until his passing on April 24, 2007.

Linda was first and foremost a mother who raised her children before going out into the workforce. She started her career as a long distant operator for AT&T for many years. Linda was most proud to be chosen out of thousands of applicants to be featured on advertisement billboards in NYC for AT&T. Her final career path led her to become a successful real estate agent here in the Utica area.

In Linda’s free time she enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family. Her most important role was that of “Grammy” to her 6 grandchildren doting on them unconditionally. From babysitting, to life guarding at her pool, watching gymnastics meets and hockey games, Linda was truly at peace with her grandchildren.

She was a member of the Church or Our Lady of Lourdes steeped in Catholic Faith.

Linda is survived by her son, A. Mark Cavalier of New Hartford, NY and daughter Christina Massoud and husband John of New Hartford, NY, precious grandchildren, Kennedy Massoud, Madelyn Massoud, twins Caleb and Nicholas Massoud, A. Jack Cavalier and Mason G. Cavalier all of New Hartford and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Catherine Caruso and brother-in-law, Nicholas Cavalier. She was predeceased by her brother Eric Sokolowski, brother in laws, John Cavalier and Carmen Caruso, sister in laws, Mary Cavalier, Eleanor Salerno and Maryann Cavalier.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to all the staff at Sitrin Aspen House, especially Carol, Eddie, Pam, Amanda and Taylor for all the care and comfort given to Linda.

Calling hours will be Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 at the Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford, NY.

Linda’s funeral will commence on Saturday morning at 9:15 at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, Our Lady of Lourdes Campus, 2222 Genesee St., Utica, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum on Champlin Ave.
