Leonard T. Wynne, 89, of Acacia Village died peacefully on August 10, 2018, with his wife at his side.

Leonard was born November 12, 1928 in Utica, New York, the son of the late Thomas and Jane (Williams) Wynne.

He was a graduate of the State University of New York at Albany, Utica College and Whitesboro High School.  He taught Social Studies at Utica Free Academy from 1953-1983.

On August 18, 1973 he married Dorothy Rosché, a loving relationship just shy of 45 years. He was a member of the New Hartford Presbyterian Church and served on the Session of the church. He was involved with many local historical societies, a life member of the St. David’s Society, and a long standing member of Phi Delta Kappa.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, her sons, Michael Newbold, of Moab, Utah, Mark (Judy) Newbold of Davidson, North Carolina, grandsons, Travis ( Rachel ) Newbold and Christopher Newbold, brother-in-law Ted (Marie) Rosché, sister, Ruth Helen Wynne, sister-in-law, Ann Wynne, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. Leonard was predeceased by his step-son, Jon Newbold, sisters, Mary W. Kessler, Martha J. Wynne and his brother, George D. Wynne.

There will be a Memorial service at the New Hartford Presbyterian Church at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 18, 2018 with The Rev. Dr. Susan Riggle, The Rev. Dr. Janet Hoover and The Rev. Dr. Ted Rosché officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at the French Road Chapel Cemetery, Remsen, NY.

The family wishes to thank the Masonic Care Community and special caregivers, Samantha, Bambi, Ashley, Eunice, Jill, Christina and Tina for the excellent, compassionate care given to Leonard.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Springbrook, 105 Campus Drive, Oneonta, NY for special needs children.
