Katherine W. Kushner, 87, of Clinton and Eagle Bay, NY passed away on April 12, 2018 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare

Katherine was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 11, 1930, the daughter of the late Robert and Isabel (Gray) Weir. She graduated high school from the Franklin K. Lane High School in Brooklyn; Class of 1948.

She married her childhood sweetheart, “the boy next door”, James E. Kushner on January 6, 1952 in Brooklyn; a loving marriage of over 64 years. Katherine dedicated her life to providing love and comfort to her family and friends.

Mrs. Kushner was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Alter Guild, the Church Choir and the Pippin Hill Garden Club. Additionally, Katherine enjoyed spending time at the camp that her husband built on Fourth Lake, as well as sewing, traveling and playing bridge.

She is survived by her daughters, Dianne Kushner McKinley of Fairport, NY, Susan Gray Carbone and her husband Michael of Frankfort, NY, and Carol O'Bryan and her husband Daniel of New Hartford; her grandchildren, Stacy (Jake) Skabelund, Peter Roman, Julia Carbone, Erin (Joseph) Marone, Kaitlyn (Justin) Peebles, Matthew and Stephanie O'Bryan; her great-grandchildren, Carter and Katherine Skabelund, McKinley and Rowan Peebles, and Griffin and Evelyn Marone; her sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Bill Rieger; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband James in 2016 and her son, Robert.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Brookdale Senior Living Community and the staff of St. Luke’s Hospital for all of the care given to Katherine.

Friends and family are invited to call on Friday from 5 to 8 pm at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Road, New Hartford. Funeral services will take place on Saturday at 9:30 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2620 Genesee Street, Utica. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Memorial donations in memory of Katherine may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 2620 Genesee Street, Utica 13502. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
