In Memory of Karen Sents

Obituary

Karen Sents, age 72, passed away at the Abraham House in Rome, Friday May 28, 2021.

Karen was born in New Hartford on April 7, 1949, daughter of the late Frank and Shirley Krieger. She was a graduate of New Hartford High School. 

Karen worked as a clerk in the Department of Social Services at the Oneida County Office Building in Utica for 35 years. She is survived by her son Richard and Stephanie Sents (Whitesboro). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shawn and Nicholas Boysen, Kathryn Purcell, James Purcell III, Jenna and Alanna Sents; great-grandchildren, Sean Burmaster, Nahla Boysen, and Kade Boysen. She is also survived by her aunt, Jacquelyn Riley, and a loving and devoted friend, Christine King, who she considered a sister, along with nephew and nieces, Gregory Krieger, Kim Johnson, and Stacy Devendorf and several cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Kurt Krieger, beloved daughter Pamela Purcell, and dear cousin Deborah Teesdale. 

Karen was a caring and compassionate person who always gave her unconditional love. She will forever hold in her memory the friendships she shared, and the many special moments enjoyed with her family. 

Special thanks are extended to Jennifer Donorfrio, NP. The family can’t express enough their gratitude for the unwavering care, support, and dedication provided to Karen during her stay at the Abraham House in Rome. The staff treated her like family and made every accommodation to make her feel like a “queen”. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Paul’s Church, Whitesboro, on Friday, June 4 at 9:30 am. Burial will be at Green Lawn Cemetery, New Hartford. Arrangements are with the Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
