Obituary

New Hartford – Judith A. “Jude” Hefferon, 78, of New Hartford, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2019, at the Presbyterian Home with her family by her side.

She was born in Detroit, MI, on July 20, 1940, a daughter of Theodore R. and Maxine (Pellow) Olander. She came to the Utica area as a young child and attended local schools. Jude was employed at the Masonic Medical Research Lab for over 40 years, retiring in 2017.

Survivors include three sons, Kevin, Ric and Ted (Kim Walker) Hefferon; grandchildren Dustin, Kris, Camryn, Kyle, Kory, and Katrina; a sister and her husband, MaryLou and Peter Alexander; extended family members Mike, Regan, Kaitlyn, Ashley and Cheyann; a dear friend, Kelly McGee-Wheelock; and all the members of the family of the late Mary Carol Ryan.

Her memorial service will be Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Road, New Hartford. Public visitation will precede the service, beginning at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a contribution in Jude’s memory to the Stevens-Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio Street, Utica, NY 13502.
