Captain Joanne Christine Pachura Grimaldi, RN, died January 4, 2019, peacefully at home, with her family at her side.

She was born January 15, 1940, in Utica, the daughter of the late Joseph B. and Wanda T. Mlynarczyk Pachura, Sr. She graduated from Utica Catholic Academy, MVCC, Utica School of Beauty Culture and SUNY IT.  She was a Registered Nurse at CNYPC. She served as a Captain in the US Army during the Gulf War. Joanne was the owner and operator of Bobby Jo's Beauty Salon and Owl Nest Ceramics.

She was a member of AARP and an Auxiliary member of the Knights of Columbus, Orchard Lake. Joanne has a very strong Roman Catholic faith.

She was married to Robert Grimaldi for 60 years and 5 months until his death September 24, 2018. They traveled in the United States and Europe.
She is survived by her daughter, Joanne C. Aughe, and son, Robert Grimaldi, II. Joanne went home to meet Robert peacefully.

At Joanne's request, services will be private. There will be military honors. Arrangements are with Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, New Hartford.
