James (Jim) Banks, 80, of Las Vegas, Nevada and formerly of Fords, N.J. died March 15, 2019.

Jim was born in New Brunswick, N.J. on January 23, 1939, son of James Banks, Sr. and Anna Hughes.

Jim was proud to be a U.S. Marine and served 30 years on active and Reserve duty. He did two tours in Vietnam, receiving the Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, and a Purple Heart.

Jim finished his Marine career in Hawaii where he then resided for many years. He became Director of Security for the Pacific Beach Hotel and later for the Pagoda Hotel.

Jim is survived by his sister, Carol Warner and her husband John of Whitesboro, New York; his loving companion of 30 years, Marjorie Tanida and her family; sons, James Banks III, and Brian Banks, both of Arizona and their mother, Peggy DeBaun; niece, Laura Warner and her husband John Bresnahan; nephew, John Warner, Jr. and his wife, Sara; niece, Anne Cally Banks; He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Ralph Banks.

Interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, N.Y.
