Isobel C. Seubert, Houston, TX & New Hartford, NY

Isobel died on July 9, 2022 in Houston, TX where she lived with her daughter Ruth and son-in-law for most of her last years. She was born on September 23, 1928 in Lewisburg, PA to Emerson J. and Myrtle (DeWire) Covert. At an early age, she and her family moved to Washington Mills, NY where she was raised and educated. She graduated from Sauquoit Valley High School in 1945 and St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1949.

On May 13, 1950 she married Joseph J. Seubert and they resided in New Hartford, NY for the next 40 years. Mr. Seubert died in 1993. Mrs. Seubert was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards and needlework. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling and golfing. She retired at the age of 77. In addition to her husband and parents, Isobel was predeceased by her beloved first child, M. Martha on July 8, 2017 and son-in-law Garry Gourley, her brother Richard Covert, sister Sharon Covert Perry, and four infant children.

She is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law Ruth (Marc) Paige of Houston, TX; a granddaughter Jessica (Matthew) Elliott of Bernhards Bay, NY; grandsons Jason (Glory Sánchez Maymi) Paige, both members of the U.S Fleet Forces Band in Norfolk, VA and Ian (Amie Jeffries) Paige of Shirley, NY; great grandchildren Yamileth Nieves Sánchez, Javier Nieves Sánchez and Isobel Paige; sisters Mary (Tom) Root and Ruth (John) Jasiczek of Pine City, NY; sisters-in-law, Angela Covert of New York City, NY and Delores Seubert of Utica, NY.
Isobel also leaves her beloved second family, Athar and Rukhsana Rahman Rafiq and family, Maha, Kamran and Zuhair Rafiq.

At Mrs. Seubert’s request and direction, there will be no calling hours. Final services at the convenience of the family at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro, NY.
