My little Helen. My condolence to her family at this sad time. I visited Helen on a regular basis on Sundays at Luke's Home to bring her Holy Communion from St. John the Evangelist Church Visitation Ministry. Sometimes I would find her sleeping, but most of the time we would have a good little chat, a lot of laughing and a cookie from her stash. She didn't remember who I was from visit to visit, but it didn't matter. She was still a good conversationalist! Helen was good at praying the Lord's Prayer with me just before receiving Holy Communion and she would always end with a very loud "AMEN!" I would put her to work by asking her to say a "Hail Mary" for me sometime. She didn't wait. I could hear her praying it all the way down the hall as I left! She even had some of the nursing staff pray with her which brought out a little joyful characteristic about her. My most recent time with Helen was one of the most light-hearted and fun visits I can remember. I am so glad my last good-bye was a joyful one. I will miss my little friend vary much! Helen was very charming and a joy to serve. God bless you, my little Helen and rest in peace!
