Obituary

Geraldine Shaw Jones, 95, formerly of Frankfort, died on Monday, May 14, 2018, at Masonic Care Community.

She was born on May 4, 1923, in Yorkville, a daughter of the late Glenn and Mable Sydney Shaw and graduated from Whitesboro High School in 1942. On September 22, 1945, she married E. Irving Jones in Whitesboro and he died on October 10, 1997. At one time, she worked for General Electric on Kent St. and the Princess Shop in the New Hartford Shopping Center.

Geraldine was a member of the New Hartford Methodist Church where she sang in the church choir. Music was a large part of her life. She loved to sing and being a part of the Players Theater of Utica and the Utica Choral.

She is survived by her two sons, Scott Jones and his wife, Nancy of Dallas, TX and Jeffrey T. Jones and his partner Francine Papa of New Hartford; grandchildren, Matthew Jones and his wife, Kaitlyn, Alexandra (Allie) Jones and her fiancée, Max Smith, Natalie Venner and her husband, George; great grandchildren, Kalei, Ethan and Kailani Venner and Savannah and Miles Jones; nephews, Paul Brillhart and Erik Baaske. She was predeceased by her sisters, Aletha Brillhart and Audrey Caryl.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to all the staff on the Saranac Unit at Masonic Care for all the care and comfort given to Geraldine.

The funeral will be on Friday at 10:00 at the New Hartford Methodist Church. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 at the Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
