In Memory of George Wallace

Obituary

George Wallace passed away after a brief illness on Monday, March 5, 2018, at the age of 65, with his loving wife, Suzanne, and family members by his side.

Born to George Henry Wallace, Sr. and Catherine Biddinger on October 21, 1952 in Yonkers, NY, George was a graduate of Fonda-Fultonville High School and Niagara University. George was a manager for Verizon Corporation where he worked for over 30 years, moving to New Hartford in 1982. He was very active in the local community, as a youth sports coach for many years in multiple sports, an avid golfer and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Old Forge, NY.

George is survived by his wife of over 43 years, Suzanne, and three sons – Andrew Michael Wallace of Mystic, CT; Sean Patrick Wallace of New Hartford and Michael Thomas Wallace of New Hartford. He also leaves three grandchildren who adored him – Cameron Claire Wallace and Mora Noel Wallace both of New Hartford, and George Nathaniel Wallace of Mystic, CT. The oldest of eight children, George is survived by his brother Michael and six sisters – Mary, Barbara, Kathleen, Patricia, Irene and Cheryl. George was fortunate to have a large circle of friends, all of whom played a significant role in his life.

At George's request, there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 10:30 am at St. John’s the Evangelist Church, 66 Oxford Road in New Hartford. All are invited to attend. Arrangements are with the Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, New Hartford.
