Over the years, Liz and I crossed paths a good many times since we shared such a strong love for music, but those crossings were never enough! Each of us had a whirlwind of activities, only Liz had to write about the musical ones, often after the performers had headed home. And so, when she showed up for the Christmas Choir programs at my church, I was honored: she was there to sing, not to write! I can see the seating arrangements now: invariably she was facing me directly, often with less confident singers either side of her since I knew she would be right on and able to help anyone who was less sure. She was also good enough not to point out any typos in the program! I will miss her. What a charming person!

Liz was an inspiration. Despite many challenges in her life, she kept on singing. And what a beautiful voice she had! I have fond memories of our years at the O-D and still have a photo on my bookshelf of her and some of the other O-D girls from one of our gatherings nearly 40 years ago. May she rest in peace.

Dear Liz,
I’m sure the Lord heard you singing your way up to the gates long before you got there and was anxiously awaiting your arrival. You were certainly one of a kind and I consider myself blessed to have met you and been able to spend time with you.
Till we meet again, Chris ❤️
