Eleanor I. Davis, 82, of Utica, completed her journey in this world on September 14, 2018 at the Presbyterian Home.

She was born January 18, 1936 in Oneida, NY, daughter of the late Claude and Goldie Brown Olcott. Eleanor was educated in area schools and she graduated from Remsen High School, Class of 1954.

Eleanor and Kenny met as young adults and it was love at first sight. Davis, January 14, 1961, a blessed union of over 48 years until his death in 2009.

Eleanors’ career in the insurance field began as a secretary for Utica Fire Insurance Co. She worked her way up to insurance adjuster for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., where she remained until her retirement in 2001.

Eleanor served as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Herkimer Congregation at the Kingdom Hall in Deerfield, NY.

She will always be remembered for having a crossword puzzle in her hands, for her wonderful sense of humor, for her appreciation of a good (clean) joke and for making the world’s best peanut butter fudge. She was completely dedicated to her husband, her boys and her grandchildren.

Eleanor is survived her sons Keith L. Davis of Durhamville, Bruce A. and Jamie Davis of Whitesboro and Todd W. and Shelly Davis of South Yarmouth, MA; three grandchildren, Todd Joseph (T.J.), Ethan and Madison, and loved to play great-grandmother to James Ryan. She is also survived by one brother Ronald Olcott, of Utica; a sister-in-law Kay Saparito of CA, nieces Kathy Rasmussen and Joann Friday of CA, and nephew Frank Facciolo of CA, cousins Phyllis Aldeninger, and Joan Bohling, and Sue Roberts.
