Sincere condolence to Maureen and family on the passing of her dad. He was obviously a major influence in your life and had a very long and filling life himself. I'm sure he will never be forgotten. Stay strong; keep the faith!

So sorry to read this. Your dad was such a kind man and a wonderful across the street neighbor. “Keep going!” he’d say as I kept improving the house. It wasn’t that long ago that I bumped into him at Byrne Dairy. We chatted. I’m glad we did.

Condolences to the Cunningham family, your mom and dad were always our favorites! Your dad was instrumental in getting my dad to run for senate, we didn’t have the funds to make it happen but what a great ride and Earl was steering the entire way.

I had the good fortune to know Earl during my 20 plus years at Utica GE. He exemplified the work ethic and skills of Contracts people that I worked with. His long resume of service to his community cements his legacy of selfless help for the many areas he contributed to. Many blessings to the family as they reflect on his life.

Mr. Cunningham's light shone so brightly for my big sister, Ebony, who he mentored and loved like she were his own. Proximity afforded my brother and I the warmth of his glow too — and we are filled with gratitude for that and for the wonderful life that he led.

To Steve and all the Cunninghams, Your dad was a great neighbor to my Aunt Norma (and Uncle Jack) who lived next door and a pillar of the New Hartford Community. Until I read the obituary I was not aware of the extent of his community work here as well as his national and international roles with GE. What a remarkable man and an amazing life. It was people like him that made our hometown such a special place. BTW, my mother played tennis for years with your mother in a tennis group which she greatly enjoyed.

Earl's was a life well lived in the service of his country, his family, and his community. He gave freely of himself to others, doing so with a warmth and sincerity that were his trademarks. New Hartford and the entire area are better places because of this special man. He will be greatly missed. Our sincerest sympathy to all of Earl's family.

I lived near Earl just a few years and we did not speak too often but would often exchange a friendly neighborly wave. The few times we chatted it was evident he was such a caring and cared for soul. My favorite thing to do was line up our Brindisi lawn signs across from each other which sounds silly but we got a kick out of it anyways. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I worked for Earl for several years in Contract Administration at GE, and was honored to replace him when he retired in 1990. He was an easy-going manager, always on top of his game, who enjoyed the greatest respect of his customers as well as his employees. He was especially important to his Japanese customers. In those days our business was always in need of year-end cash, and whenever the business needed a few million dollars to balance the books at year-end, the general manager knew that he could call on Earl, tell him what was needed, and Earl would work with our Japanese customer to come up with the needed funds. As far as I know, Earl never failed to come through. I am personally thankful that Earl took an interest in me and my career, and made sure that when he retired, I was in position to carry on his work. He was a gentleman and friend, and his obituary is a fine tribute to a fine man. RIP Earl.

I always respected and loved your dad. He was calm, kind and ever so thoughtful of others.
I babysat for the Cunningham children when they were children and enjoyed being in your home and talking to both of your parents. I have fond memories of the political years when both Earl and my dad, Al Riley, ran for office.
Earl was a mensch, a good guy who did the rights things in life.

Brian & Cathy, and the whole Cunningham family - We send our love and our sympathies. Many fond memories of times spent together on Paris Road. New Hartford lost a community treasure. He was a great role model for all of us.
