Condolences

Taras was a dear friend of mine at Ole Miss while attending college there. We were roommates some of the time, and I have always considered him a great friend, even though I saw him only once since he graduated. He, his lovely wife, and two fine children visited the campus for a football game many years ago, and we enjoyed that time immensely. He was witty and fun, and he fit in so well with all who knew him. He is one I'll never forget. I regret that I didn't see him more, but the memories will last always.

Janet: This is Charlie Swayze in Greenwood MS. I considered Taras a good friend at Ole Miss when we lived in Guest dorm. He also practiced taught at my high school here. I saw him, you and maybe a son a few yrs ago on campus when yall were visiting. It was a fun visit. I just read his obituary and was very impressed. So sorry about his passing. Appeared to be sudden. May you all find some peace and comfort in your memories of happier times, and always remember the good times. Taras will be missed though never forgotten, May Taras rest in peace.

I and my deepest sympathy at this time of loss. I was greatly saddened upon hearing about the passing of my dear friend. He hired me as the Principal of Thomas Proctor High School in 1993, and long after my tenure we remained in touch through the years. I will always remember his laughter and fun loving spirit. I cherished his confidence in me and the support he gave me, that set the stage for a successful career in public education. May God bless you and keep you during this difficult time.

I offer my sincere condolences to the family of Dr. Taras Herbowy. I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Herbowy when I was president of SUNYIT. He was a most knowledgeable and congenial education professional who helped me to navigate the Utica landscape about which he was an unquestioned expert. Despite the gravity of the responsibilities he dealt with, Dr. Herbowy maintained a positive and light-hearted attitude--not easy to do.

So sorry for your loss.
