Obituary

Doris Lloyd Scalise, 95, of Utica, died November 1, 2018 at the Masonic Care Community.

She was born January 27, 1923 in Holland Patent, NY, daughter of George Chassell Lloyd and Mabel Evans Lloyd. She graduated from Holland Patent High School, Wooster College, Wooster, Ohio with her AB degree and Smith College where she received her Masters of Social Work.

Doris married John G. Scalise January 8, 1966, 8, 1966 at Grace Church, Utica. John died December 12, 1996. Doris worked as a Social Worker for both the Federal and New York State Governments.

She was of the Episcopal faith.

Doris was a member of the Holland Patent Chapter for the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Colonial Dames. She enjoyed travelling and Bridge.

She is survived by two cousins, Genevra Forbes of Holland Patent and Joan Davison of Highland, NY.

The family extends its sincere thanks to the Staff of the Masonic Care Community for all of their care for Doris.

A Requiem Eucharist will be held on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Meditation Room of the Masonic Care Community, with Rev. Heather Benson, officiating. Interment will be in Holland Patent Cemetery. There are no Calling Hours.
