Donna Jean Kistler, 74, of Utica, passed away, September 2, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

She was born November 23, 1947, in Queens, NY, daughter of the late Garrett and Maria Dalton.

Donna graduated with an Associate Degree in Advertising Art and Design at the State University at Farmingdale. Upon graduating in 1967, she worked in advertising in NYC. She married Brice Kistler on November 16, 1968, in Queens. He was serving in the US Navy, and they moved to Detroit, MI and then to Bethesda, MD where she continued to work in advertising. Donna and her husband and their infant daughter moved to Utica in 1973. She studied painting at Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute, Herkimer County Community College, and the Kirkland Art Center, and was a member and Past-President of the of the Central New York Watercolor Society.

As well as being an artist, Donna loved gardening and spending time with family and friends.

Donna was a member of Mary, Mother of Our Saviour Parish, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.

She is survived by her husband, Brice Kistler, her daughter and son -in-law Kim and Christopher Gould and their daughter Hannah Gould of Baldwinsville, NY; her siblings, Jill Ann Dalton of Westbury, NY, Garrett Dalton of Livermore, CA, Mary Ellen Hollifield of New Windsor, NY and Christine South of N. Bellmore, NY, and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great -nephews.

The funeral will be on Thursday at 1:00 PM at Mary, Mother of Our Saviour Parish, (Lourdes Campus), 2222 Genesee St., Utica, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The family will greet friends following the Mass.
