Please accept my deepest condolences. I am so sorry I could not make it into town to express them in person. I was shocked to see the news about Rick! He is not much older than me even though growing up I thought he was, probably because he was in a band. It seems like yesterday when I reflect back on the days when we used to go watch Cold Sweat play. When I close my eyes, I can still hear the Maui song in my head. I bet he's singing it to the angels now. Those were great memories that I will always cherish. Spending time with the Mondi family and going to see Rick's band play was always something I looked forward to and it got me through some difficult times. For that, I am forever grateful!

Chuck and I are so very sorry to hear about the loss of your son Rick. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family during this most difficult time.

Rick was special. When Rick arrives at the pearly gates, I hope God will say you’re playing the next set and George Harrison and John Lennon are going to sit in.

When I heard of his passing I played “I will” from the Beatles White Album. Much love to the Mondi family.

I was shocked to hear of Rick's passing. I have been friends with Rick since we were in Jr. High...we were both drummers in High school and had a lot of fun teasing each other over who was better...it was a running gag we had that was all in fun and I have many good memories of the fun we had as kids.
Whenever I would run into Rick over the years we would call each other by the nick-names we gave to each other back in Jr. High school...and with his warm and welcoming personality it was as if no time had gone by.
He was truly a good person with a great spirit and I will miss him.

I am beyond heartbroken and devastated by Ricks super early departure, but we are al people of Faith, and should understand that we are not to choose when we depart or how. My condolences to all family members , Rick will always be remembered for the great human being he always was. Deepest condolences to Rick’s family and friends. He was one of the first people I met at Potsdam, he made sure I always had someone to hang out with, being a new student on campus. I got to know him through Cold Sweat and his fraternity. He was an amazing musician and a kind, gentle soul. Heaven certainly gained an angel. Prayers for peace in the coming days and weeks.
