Mr. Shove journeyed through life leaving footprints of kindness, compassion, humor, inspiration and love. Not only in my heart as a little girl in his class, but in my own children as well. We will always look back and see the trail he clearly left behind. We are so deeply sorry to his dearest family & friends for your huge loss. May you find comfort and strength at this very sad time.

Mr. Shove taught both of our children at SVCS many years ago bringing his love of music into their lives as students and into our lives as parents too. A couple of years ago, well after they graduated, I surprisingly ran into him at a concert in Cooperstown, NY. We had a great conversation talking about our kids, with him still concerned about his students. I don't think the words "former students" ever was uttered or even entered his mind. Thank you Mr. Shove for sharing your talents with us and to his family for sharing him with us.

We are very sorry to hear of David's passing. David was the Choral Music teacher for our three children when they were in Elementary School. As a family, we all appreciated his talent and kindness as he worked with the children. We will keep fond memories of him.

Mr. Shove was the best. I too had him as a music teacher in the elementary school. My friends and I were texting and remembering all the fun things he taught us. He laid a solid foundation in our lives, musically or what have you. Flash forward a bunch of years and my son was able to say the exact same things! To Katharine and Julia, please know your Dad was loved - and I am so very sorry.

Empathy to Liz and family on the passing of David. He was a superior music teacher who incorporated proper performance decorum with his lessons. His demeanor exampled what he was teaching and made him a unique influence with young children. It was always a joy to attend his student concerts.
