I am so very sorry to hear of David's passing. I worked with him when I was employed by Martha's Realty. He would come up to my office to get information and tax maps and we would chat when I started working for Herkimer County Real Property. He had a great sense of humor and was great to talk with. Rest peacefully Dave. You have earned your wings. My sincerest condolences to his entire family. May God give you strength and courage during this most difficult time. God Bless.

My deepest sympathy to the family.
I met David many years ago when I worked for the migrant tutor program at Herkimer BOCES. He was truly one of a kind wonderful person. The most endearing memory I have of him is him doing the limbo and really getting down low to perform it! This was during an evening social event at a conference for the migrant program. David was an inspiration to everyone and a dedicated leader in our community.

I consider myself very fortunate and priviledged to have worked for and alongside David at the Herkimer BOCES and on the scholarship foundation. David calmly led by example, and those examples included listening to all opinions, kindness, patience, putting students first, hard work and dedication. He possessed many endearing qualities including a great sense of humor, a bright mind, quiet dignity and strength, as well as, a thirst for knowledge and service to others. I am so thankful David shared his many gifts with me and others, and I will especially miss the gift of his friendship.

We have been neighbors for forty years and I will miss Dave so much. He was always a kind and interesting friend and fellow gardener. Dave was one of those people you knew would be there if you needed help with something. I’m just up the road, Lynda and Dakotah, if I can do anything to help you out.

David was a man of true character whose humor would show up at a random time (like opening day and “not” naming all those that didn’t turn their staff handbook in before leaving in June)! A true professional with a huge heart. He gave countless hours to helping children and the community. He will be greatly missed. My condolences to family and friends who had the pleasure of knowing him.

I am so sorry to learn of David's passing. I worked with Dave at the Herkimer BOCES over a number of years back in the 1990's. He was a kind, considerate person who always did his best in a complex position. How unfortunate that we often learn the truth depth and breadth of a person by reading their obituary. It would be so fine to sit down and have another chat with Dave.

I first knew Mr. Dudgeon as a dear friend of my mother's, whom he worked with at BOCES. I then had the good fortune to teach his beloved granddaughter Dakotah. Mr. Dudgeon always impressed me with his giant heart and generous spirit. Dakotah sure was lucky to have him in her life. I have no doubt that the lessons he taught and the examples he set will live on and continue to affect this world in a positive way through the people he was close to. My heart goes out to Mrs. Dudgeon, Dakotah and to the rest of his family.

Our deepest condolences to Lynda and all of Dave’s family. As we all know, Dave lived qualities we aspire to including, support and devotion to his family, kindness, generosity, energy, talent, positivity and support in all ways to his faith, educational activities, background and roots as well as to his faith, community and beyond. Recently he connected with us though MVLIR attendance with Fern and with his real estate expertise in the sale of our parents home. My irreplaceable memory is of the endless summer fun during our Dist 7 grammar school days at Dave’s house with Dave and Del. Thank you Dave.
