I was best friends with Janice throughout grammar school and we spent many nights at each other's home. I always remember Mrs Allen as a kind, welcoming woman who made me feel comfortable and secure. Janice and family, I am so sorry for your loss. She certainly leaves big shoes to fill. God bless.

Our condolences to Jan & Jim and the Allen families. Barbara had such lively energy and was so colorful in wit and with her art. I still have some note cards of a painting she did where she used purples, pinks and blues to paint a foliage landscape. That perspective was the first, for me, of this type when she did it about 20 years ago. She was great company, fun and always had a viewpoint on any topic. God Bless her and Al in heaven,
Lauren & Dick Mattia

I went to MVCC and then Utica College with Barbara. She was a great friend whom I lost track of over the years. She was a great help with all those terrible Philosophy 101 term papers and I would visit at her house on Bonnie Brae in tears every semester, where she would stoically (Philo 101) hand me a box of Kleenex and tell me to "use my inginuity". I also saw her from time to time at the UPL Art shows. She will be missed. Rest easy my friend.

I am very sorry for your huge loss.
In the Seventies, I played tennis with Barbara, the Marchetta's and Betsy Crandall. I also was often at your home on Bonnie Brae. I remember a phrase she often used: "Use your ingenuity!" I was sure I would read that in the obituary. Do you remember that?
