Condolences

Grandma Betty was someone with a playful loving sense of humor. Every time she would visit on the west coast, she would tell one of us that that we were her favorite grandson. It was a game that we all played along with and joked with each other about who was the current favorite. It was an honor that she bestowed on me the last time she visited this past July. I’ll miss the chats we had with her and the fun. I called her last Christmas and as we hung up, she told me that even though I wasn’t a blood related grandson she told me she loved me like I was one. That will be a memory that will always remain with me when I think of her. Although her passing is very sad, she left this world knowing that she was loved and treasured by many friends and family and in that she was very fortunate.

Betty was a wonderful and loving grandmother and I’ll always remember her youthful spirit. Sometimes I felt like she was the kid, and I was the grandparent. Her sense of humor and candor is what I’ll miss most. If I was down, or a situation too tense, she would often find a way to diffuse it with some off the cuff wit and wisdom. I always loved that about her, and will miss her greatly.

Betty was a wonderful person and her apple pies were legendary! Joe and Betty were our neighbors for many years and we loved them as family ❤️ Joe taught us everything we know about lawn care and gardening. . Condolences to the entire family
