George, Dan, Peter and family,

Words cannot express the sorrow we feel for the loss of your wonderful wife and mother. It was a joy to have known her. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of healing.

On behalf of the entire Martellotto family, our deepest sympathies.
Barb graduated with my sister Annette from UCA in 1976. I knew Barb because of UCA sports and graduated before them in 1974. My mother Dolores was a LPN at Faxton Hospital and worked with Jeff. The "Freytag" name is a familiar one to us.
May Barb's soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed, rest in peace. Amen.

Take Your Moment
Take your moment to mourn, but don’t spend too much time.
My life was a wonderful celebration. I am still with you and love you, but now you must seek me in different ways.
Learn to:
See my face in the beauty of the world and hear my laughter in the giggle of a small child. Feel my touches in the warmth of the sun, and my voice in the gentle stirring of the wind, and most of all, know I am present to you always in the quiet strength of our love for each other.
If you feel burdened with the problem of the day, or fear the uncertainty of the future, seek me in the wisdom and counsel of family and friends.
If you feel the pain of loneliness or the hurt of separation, reach out to someone else in need of love, for that is how you will quiet your sorrow.
And if you seek peace for yourself, listen quietly to the sound of my voice present in your own heart, for that is where I am always.
Were not our lives together more joy than sorrow; more laughter than tears; more forgiveness than separation? So, too, let this experience of life be turned from grief and sadness to one of knowing and seeking the loving God within us all.
When you choose to remember our times together, remember the days of celebration and laughter. In this way the gift of my life and the power of its love will continue to echo in the lives of all you touch.

This poem was given to me by Winifred Kauth in 2007 after the death of my husband. Winnie’s husband Donald was killed in 1970 leaving her widowed with seven children. Her son Wayne died from melanoma in 1986. Her oldest son Don was killed September 11th in NY at the World Trade Center.
Her Catholic faith has sustained her all those years.
God Bless you at this most difficult time.

Bar b, the 6am workouts at curves I will never forget. We had so much fun making fun of ourselves. I so looked forward to seeing you. The last time I saw you was at a comets game, in the bar (of course). I was so happy to see you. Like we saw each other yesterday. I am a better person for having known you. You will always be in my heart and my thoughts. I love you. Rest peacefully.

Dan and Peter, so sad to hear about your Mom. My boys and I have such happy memories...especially at St. Mary's. So many laughs and great times. She was a wonderful teacher, Justin loved Mrs. Clark. She always was there to help and give encouragement.
The sisterhood of UCA bound us together as friends and no matter how much time may have past between seeing one another it was as if we never skipped a beat when we met.. Always talking about our boys and how they were doing. Your Mom was so proud and loved you guys so much ????. Your Mom and your Dad are 2 of the nicest, caring people I know. Your Mom left you guys so much, ....and all of us who were lucky enough to know her. Her love and spirit will live on through both of you boys and your families.
George I am so sorry... there are no words for your loss. Your love for one another is timeless and never ending and that is what will give you strength. What you both had together the partnership and love is the greatest achievement and wish anyone could ask for.
You all are in my prayers.

George, Dan and Pete: I remember your wife/mom from many years ago before teaching with her when I first met her working at the gate of Murnane field. Talk about charisma and zest for life! She was one of the strongest women I've ever known. May she rest in peace and love with God. She will never be forgotten and the legacy that she left in teaching and touching the lives of hundreds of kids will never be forgotten.
I will miss you Barbie.

Dave & Jeff & family - I am so saddened by this event. Your little sister & my little cousin was far too young - but God had His plan. I recall many fun times - but the one constant was spending a weekend in a camp you guys had somewhere in the woods. (Where?). It was fun, laughs & we all slept in an upstairs bedroom & giggled alot! It was around 1962ish. Hope you & your families are well and trying to deal with losing Barb. I miss you all & pray you stay safe & healthy. MUCH love & prayers to all
