Barbara Anne Greene Bushinger, 97, of New Hartford, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022, peacefully at home with her family by her side.

She was born in Utica on February 19, 1924 to Edward Gardner Greene and Anne Louise Owens and was educated in New Hartford Schools. She was a member of the New Hartford Presbyterian Church, New Hartford Lions Club and Eastern Star #620.

On October 16, 1943, she was united in marriage to Edgar Ireland Bushinger and enjoyed 64 wonderful years together until his death on March 4, 2007. Barb and Edgar spent their days operating their family business, Bushinger Flowers, and spent summers enjoying their camp on Fourth Lake. They also loved socializing with their friends at the Skenandoa Golf Club and trips to Florida in the winter.

Barb was a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be sorely missed. She was the center of her family and they will forever be thankful for the amazing memories they have made with her. Barb never missed a party and was always dressed to the nines. She loved shopping, spending time with her family and friends up north, eating out, “martini time” and was a huge cat lover.

Barb is survived by her adored sons, Keith and Greg and daughter-in-law, Maureen. She will live on in the hearts of her grandchildren Chris Bushinger (Sarah Jo), Barbie Seakan (Norm), Brett Bushinger (Ally) and Erin Bushinger-Sica (Matt) and seven cherished great grandchildren Wesley, Tyler, Ryan, Lyla, Nathan, Kendyl and Morgan. She is also survived by her niece, Jo-Anne Greene of England. In addition to Edgar, she was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Marylynn, brother Hamilton Greene, sister-in-law Marion Greene and niece Lori Greene.

Calling hours will be on Friday, January 21 from 2pm to 4pm at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 13 Oxford Road, New Hartford. A funeral service will follow at 4pm.

In loving memory of Barb, you may consider donations to the Stevens Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio Street, Utica, NY 13502 or the Rescue Mission of Utica, 293 Genesee Street, Utica, NY 13501.
